What is FitFeud?

In short, FitFeud allows anyone set up and run a weight loss competition.

Studies show that competition is a very powerful motivating factor. FitFeud is a web site for people who know how to lose weight, but need helping staying motivated to lose weight.

Competition = Motivation?

Yes! In a recent CNN poll 74% of respondents said "lack of motivation" was their biggest obstacle for reaching weight loss and fitness goals. With FitFeud, competition serves as the ultimate motivator to begin and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Why wouldn't I just run the league myself using a spreadsheet?

Sure, you could set up and manage a weight loss competition yourself. You could try to organize your friends; bug them each week to check in; build and manage the spreadsheet; respond to emails asking what the rankings are; and on and on. But we figure you have a life, and probably a job too.

FitFeud allows you to do all of the above while barely lifting a finger, including:

  • Send taunts to your competitors
  • Automatic BMI calculation and tracking
  • Cool interactive graphs and charts!

Why Competitions?

At heart, most Americans know the path to a healthier lifestyle; Eat Better, Exercise more. The tough part is the motivation to do so. By harnessing our ingrained competitive nature, the will to win (or not to lose) serves as the ultimate motivating factor.

How do the competitions work?

FitFeud is a flexible system that can be implemented in a variety of ways. That said, at its core, it works like this: Users login to FitFeud, join a league, and then compete with others to lose the highest percentage of weight. Each week, all competitors are sent reminders via email to check-in online.

Can I set up a competition with/without a cash prize?

Yes. FitFeud allows you to set up competitions with any sort of prize you like, cash or otherwise. Currently, FitFeud does not manage this process for you. Whatever the prize for your competition is, cash or otherwise, managing and awarding this prize is handled outside of the FitFeud web site in whatever way the league's competitors see fit.

We plan on adding the ability to manage competition payments and cash prize payouts inside of FitFeud in the future. We'll be sure to let you know when we add this functionality.

What can we compete on?

Currently, all FitFeud competitions are based on percentage of weight loss. Moving forward well be adding features that allow you to compete based number of workouts, push-ups, miles run and the like. We'll let you know as soon as these features are available. In the mean time feel free to let us know what else you would like to compete on.


Credits

What are FitFeud Credits?

FitFeud Credits allow you to purchase taunts for your competitors. FitFeud Credits may be purchased at the rate of 50 credits for $5 USD. Soon FitFeud Credits will be redeemable for other premium services.

Which payment methods do you accept?

FitFeud currently utilizes PayPal to process all payment transactions. This allows you to pay with Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, or your Paypal account.

Is my credit card information secure?

Yes. Paypal is a recognized leader in handling online payments. They're the experts, so we let them handle everything for us.

All information you provide to Paypal is done over a secure, encrypted connection. FitFeud does not store or get access to your credit card information in any way. Every part of the transaction is handled by Paypal.

How can I use FitFeud credits?

FitFeud Credits allow you to purchase taunts for your competitors. In the future FitFeud Credits will be redeemable for other premium services.

Taunts

How can I taunt a user?

To send a taunt to your competitor go to your current competition. Choose "Send a taunt" and choose one of your opponents to taunt from the list provided. After you have selected a competitor be sure to include a message with your taunt.

If you do not have credits you will be prompted to purchase credits through our Credit Store.

How can I view taunts sent to me?

Go to your Taunts page.


Privacy

Are actual weights visible to other competitors?

We know weight can be a sensitive issue for some. For others, though, having their competitors know their weight is motivating. FitFeud allows commissioners to control whether actual weights are shown to other competitors. Regardless, no one outside of the competition will ever be able to see anyone’s weight.

What do I need to provide my zip code?

Soon FitFeud will be able to match competitors based on their location. In order to match you with other people around you, FitFeud will need to have a general idea where you are located.


Settings

How can I change my Notifications and Reminders?

Go to Edit Profile and scroll down to "Notifications and Reminders".

How can I change my avatar?

Go to Edit Profile and scroll down to "Account Avatar". To upload a new avatar choose a file on your computer.

Avatar images must be under 500kb and no larger than 1024 x 1024. Using square images is recommended. To easily resize your image, try Picnik, a free online image editor. .

I can't remember my password.

To reset your user password click here.

I can't login to my account.
